Corvina is the backbone grape of Valpolicella and Amarone, and Tinazzi bottles it solo here as a Verona IGT. The family firm dates to 1968, when Eugenio Tinazzi started out near Lake Garda; his son and grandchildren now run estates in both Veneto and Puglia. This is their easy-drinking side: 100 percent Corvina Veronese at 13.5 percent, all cherry and spice. Twenty minutes in the fridge does it favors. Tuesday-night Italian red, zero homework required. Ripe cherry and red berries with spice and a light cocoa note. Velvety and full on the palate, licorice sneaking in late, with a long, persistent finish.
