Acentor is Isaac Fernández's small-batch project in Rioja, brought to the U.S. by importer Aurelio Cabestrero. This bottling is 100% Maturana Tinta, an old Rioja variety that nearly disappeared before conservation-minded growers brought it back. Fruit comes off vines at 500 to 600 meters on limestone and iron-rich, sandy soil, hand harvested and fermented with native yeast in stainless steel, then aged a year in used French oak. The 2020 was Acentor's first release of this grape alone. Wine writer John Gilman scored it 91+ points. Pour it for guests who think they've tried every grape Rioja has to offer.

Black cherry, cassis, espresso and cigar smoke over chalky soil and fresh herbs, with a touch of cedary oak. Full bodied and deep, ripe tannins buried under bright acidity, long complex finish. 13.5% alcohol.
