Alain Vincey is a small, family-owned grower estate on the historic hillsides of Champillon, in Champagne, farmed sustainably. The Brut NV is a traditional equal-parts blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier -- classic Champagne construction, not a single-varietal shortcut. It's crisp and honest, the kind of grower fizz that drinks above its price. Good everyday Champagne for a Tuesday or a toast, not just special occasions.

White fruit, chamomile, toast and tangy citrus on the nose. Fine, persistent bubbles carry a crisp, clean palate through to a finish of apple, pear and light toast.

Classic matches for Champagne: Oysters, fried chicken, potato chips, celebration in any form.

Alain Vincey farms family vineyards on the hillsides of Champillon, on the Montagne de Reims, using sustainable practices. It's a small-production, family-run house rather than a big negociant brand.
