Txakoli is the Basque coast's zippy seafood wine, and Baskoli is the rare rosé version you can actually find around here. It comes from a family estate's own vineyards at Hondarribia on the Bay of Biscay, a blend of 55 percent red Hondarrabi Beltza and 45 percent white Hondarrabi Zuri under the Getariako Txakolina denomination, at a sane 12 percent alcohol. Bright pink, lightly effervescent in the Txakoli tradition, and built for warm evenings and cold shellfish.

Bright pink hue. Strawberry, blackberry and black currant aromas over a citrus background with fine green herbal notes. Clean and bright on the palate, brisk acidity, crisp dry finish.

Gambas al ajillo, mussels, boquerones, or a paper plate of fried calamari on the deck.

Baskoli is a family-owned estate winery in Spain's Basque Country. Grapes grow in the winery's own vineyards in Hondarribia on the rocky Bay of Biscay and ferment at its modern facility. The brand reaches the US through California's Riboli Family Wines.
