Two Mountain Winery estate-grows, produces and bottles everything from its own vineyards in the Rattlesnake Hills of Yakima Valley, and their wines are certified sustainable through Washington's RULES program. The 2022 Merlot is a straight varietal built for the dinner table: toasted oak and cocoa notes over ripe fig, with a soft, generous mid-palate. Washington Merlot doesn't get enough credit next to its Cabernet neighbors; this bottle is the argument for giving it another look.

Toasted oak, cocoa dust and ripe fig on the nose with a briny, savory edge. Palate moves between cherry and roasted beet, lilac and bay leaf, black pepper and cumin, framed by soft tannins.
