Valravn's 2023 Pinot Noir is 85 percent Russian River Valley fruit, with declassified Sonoma Coast barrels from their Marine Layer project and a high-elevation Mendocino Ridge parcel folded in. Wild yeast fermentation, roughly 20 percent whole cluster, eleven months in French oak with only a fifth of it new. Wine Enthusiast scored it 93, Suckling 91. Cool-climate Sonoma Pinot with actual structure at this price is a unicorn. Stock up before Thanksgiving does it for you.

Dark ruby. Red and black fruit, baking spice, a brambly briar-patch edge. Cranberry and pomegranate on a taut, linear frame, rich texture, crisp coastal freshness carrying the finish.
