Andeluna - 1300 Cabernet Sauvignon - Valle De Uco - 2023

$19.99

The 1300 in the name is the elevation in meters. Andeluna farms in Gualtallary, up in Tupungato at the top of the Uco Valley, founded in 2003 by Ward Lay and the Reina Rutini family and owned by the Barale family since 2013. Seventy hectares of estate vineyard. This Cabernet ferments in temperature-controlled steel with native and selected yeasts, then sees three months in French oak. Bright, herbal, food-friendly Cabernet.

Intense ruby. White pepper, clove and oak spice with red pepper and dark blue fruit. Cherry and leafy notes on a supple, medium-bodied palate. Juicy acidity, crunchy tannins, herbal medium finish.

Classic matches for Cabernet Sauvignon: Ribeye off the grill, lamb chops, aged cheddar, a rainy night and a good movie.

Gualtallary sits at 1,300 meters in Tupungato, high in the Uco Valley. Andeluna works seventy hectares of estate vines there and emphasizes terroir over over-ripe fruit. Jimena Lopez is the winemaker, with Manuel Gonzalez consulting on enology.
