BV Georges De Latour - Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon - 2019

$169.99

BV's Georges de Latour Private Reserve is one of Napa's original icon Cabernets, drawn from the BV1 and BV2 blocks on Rutherford's western bench, first planted by Georges de Latour himself in the early 1900s. Winemaker Trevor Durling blended the 2019 at 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Petit Verdot. James Suckling scored it a perfect 100 and named it his number one wine of 2022; Jeb Dunnuck gave it 99, Wine Enthusiast 97. This is Rutherford Dust in its most famous form.

Black raspberry, red currant and black cherry with wild lavender, rose, mint, sage and thyme. Caramel, cedar and clove from new French oak. Full-bodied, dense and multilayered, with the estate's signature Rutherford Dust tannins and a long, persistent finish.

Classic matches for Cabernet Sauvignon: Ribeye off the grill, lamb chops, aged cheddar, a rainy night and a good movie.

BV1 and BV2, the parcels behind this wine, sit on Rutherford's western benchlands and were first planted by Georges de Latour in the early 1900s. Current winemaker Trevor Durling has overseen the label for years, working the same ground that made BV's reputation a century ago.
