Ca' Del Baio Moscato D'asti 101 DOCG
$30.00
The Grasso family has run Ca' del Baio for four generations, since 1880, and Moscato d'Asti 101 has always been their own celebration wine. It comes from cadastral plot number 101, the family's best Moscato vineyard, with vines planted in 1953 and 1994. 100% Moscato Bianco, fermented in steel and stopped at 5 to 6% alcohol, so it stays gently fizzy and honestly sweet with real acidity underneath. Apricot and linden blossom, long fresh finish. Serve it ice cold.
Intensely aromatic nose of apricot and linden blossom. Bright straw color, fine persistent bubbles, sweet but light on its feet, with good acidity and a long, fresh finish.
Fruit tarts, cream and Chantilly desserts, sweet breads like panettone. Sneaky good with soft cheeses and cured meats too.
Ca' del Baio is the Grasso family estate, four generations in since 1880. Plot 101 is considered the area's best Moscato vineyard, planted in 1953 and 1994. Steel-tank fermentation is halted at 5 to 6% alcohol to preserve sugar and gentle fizz.
