Cloudline - Pinot Noir - 2022

$27.99

Cloudline is Véronique Drouhin-Boss's value label, made under the same eye that runs Domaine Drouhin Oregon and traces back to Maison Joseph Drouhin, a Burgundy family making Pinot Noir since 1880. First vintage was 2002, sourced from low-yield vineyards across the Willamette Valley. Real Burgundian pedigree at a price that doesn't require a special occasion to open. Deep ruby-purple color, riper and darker than most Oregon Pinot, with fresh red fruit and soft tannins. Weeknight Pinot with a genuinely good name behind it.

Red cherry, red plum, light spice, cranberry and a touch of maraschino cherry and earth. Fresh, fruit-driven palate, dense and balanced, red plum and dark fruit with a whiff of toasted oak. Medium body, soft tannins, long finish.

Classic matches for Pinot Noir: Salmon, roast duck, mushroom risotto, a charcuterie board that means business.

Made for importer Dreyfus-Ashby by Véronique Drouhin-Boss, whose family has run Maison Joseph Drouhin in Burgundy since 1880 and co-founded Domaine Drouhin Oregon in 1988. Cloudline sources fruit from multiple low-yield Willamette Valley vineyards; first vintage was 2002.
