Tenuta De Angelis has farmed the Piceno hills of Le Marche since the 1950s, when founders Alighiero De Angelis and Giovanna Ciabattoni built their first winery in Cossignano; the estate is now organic under the founders' grandchildren. This Rosso Piceno blends 70% Montepulciano with 30% Sangiovese and ages 15-18 months in large botti before more time in bottle. It's a rustic, food-driven Marche red — built for the table, not for sipping alone.

Dried blueberries, cranberries and wild strawberries mix with red cherry, dusty herbs and violets on the nose. Aged in large botti for a rounder, savory character with soft, integrated tannins.

Alighiero De Angelis and his wife Giovanna Ciabattoni founded the estate in the 1950s in Cossignano, in the Piceno zone of Le Marche, later expanding into Offida and Castel di Lama. Grandchildren Alighiero and Elisa Fausti now run the winery organically, and their father Quinto Fausti helped revive Montepulciano as a serious variety in the area.
