Hobo Wine Company is Kenny Likitprakong's project, built on an old-school philosophy: lower alcohol, fresher wines meant for the dinner table rather than showpieces. This bottling comes from Gary Branham's Rockpile vineyard, planted in 1991 and the oldest Zinfandel vineyard in the Rockpile AVA, dry-farmed on volcanic soil above the fog line. The 2015 is restrained by Zinfandel standards, with real structure instead of jam. A good bottle for someone who thinks they don't like Zinfandel.

Brambly raspberry and blackberry, cracked pepper and violet. Moderately rich but restrained for Zinfandel, with real tannic structure and a layered, terroir-driven finish rather than pure jam.

Classic matches for Zinfandel: Burgers, ribs, pepperoni pizza, bold tomato sauces.

Sourced from Gary Branham's Rockpile vineyard, planted in 1991 and the oldest Zinfandel vineyard in the Rockpile AVA. Dry-farmed above the fog line on rocky volcanic soil high in magnesium and iron, forcing vines to dig deep for water.
