Kevin and Helen O'Brien founded Kangarilla Road in 1997 on the old Cambrai vineyard site in McLaren Vale, and Kevin, a Roseworthy-trained oenologist, still makes the wine today even after selling the winery itself to Gemtree in 2013. This Shiraz shows the powerful, spice-driven style McLaren Vale built its reputation on. It drinks well now and has the structure to hold through 2030. Built for a grilled ribeye or a cold night by the fire, not a light appetizer.

Satsuma plum, raspberry preserves, floral and licorice notes with a savory, herbal edge and hints of perfumed blackcurrant. Big, rich black and red berry fruit, roasted spice, and real energy through the finish.
