Le Marie is a small family winery founded in 2000 in Barge, in the Pinerolese hills of northwest Piedmont near the French border. Blanc de Lissart is their dry white from Malvasia Moscata, a rare aromatic grape almost nobody else bottles. All stainless steel, so the perfume does the talking: peach, jasmine, cut grass, no oak in the way. Alpine Piedmont from a corner of the region most importers skip. Buy it for the story, rebuy it for the drinking.
Intensely aromatic: peach, tangerine, kiwi, jasmine, and fresh-cut grass. Dry and light on its feet, juicy stone fruit, bright acidity, a lingering floral finish.

The family farms hand-tended vineyards in the hamlet of Assarti in Barge, in the tiny Pinerolese zone of northwest Piedmont. Grapes are picked by hand into small crates and the wine sees only stainless steel.
