A small Montalcino estate farming six hectares, two of them near the Abbey of Sant'Antimo, making dark, polished Brunello. The 2018 is 100% Sangiovese matured 30 months in French oak tonneaux, then rested ten more months in bottle before release. The style leans plush: dark florals, rich fruit, fine tannin, more velvet than rust. A 2018 Brunello drinking beautifully right now, which is exactly what you want from this vintage. Sunday ragù has met its match.

Dark florals, lavender and crushed blackberry with red berries, tea leaf, tobacco and earth. Full-bodied and soft, fine-grained tannins, balanced acidity, a chocolate-cherry richness carrying the finish.
