Matané is a Puglia Primitivo imported through Empson USA and made from primitivo — Puglia's answer to Zinfandel, ripe and generous in the southern Italian sun. Dense and fruit-loaded with kirsch and sweet spice, it's an easy-drinking, crowd-pleasing red at a real everyday price. Good weeknight bottle for pizza, burgers, or anything off the grill.

Ruby red with dark plum, tart cherry, cranberry, floral and rosemary aromas. Smooth palate, gentle acidity balancing a sweet-fruited finish. Medium body, kirsch and baking spice, ripe soft tannins.
