Meadowcroft - Russian River Valley - Pinot Noir - 2022
$40.00
Tom Meadowcroft spent decades managing vineyards for Opus One, Cakebread, Duckhorn and Stags Leap before he started bottling wine under his own name, and that Rolodex shows. This Russian River Pinot was picked in September 2022 and bottled the following March, sourced from a site the winery keeps under an ironclad NDA. Cherry and blackberry lead, backed by red rose and kola nut spice. It drinks like a wine twice its price, which is the whole Meadowcroft pitch.
Cherry and blackberry aromas wrapped in red rose and kola nut spice, a touch of vanilla. Lush, well-rounded mouthfeel, dark fruit and spice, vibrant acidity, long finish.
Classic matches for Pinot Noir: Salmon, roast duck, mushroom risotto, a charcuterie board that means business.
Founder Tom Meadowcroft built his reputation as a vineyard manager for Opus One, Cakebread, Duckhorn and Stags Leap before launching his own label, using those relationships to source fruit that overdelivers for the price.
