Nomade - 'Las Mulas' - Syrah/Malbec - 2019

Nomade's Las Mulas bottling comes from a single vineyard at 3,450 feet in El Cepillo, in Mendoza's Uco Valley, at the foot of the Andes. The blend runs 60% Syrah and 40% Malbec, high-altitude fruit that keeps the wine fresh despite its ripeness. It's part of Nomade's small Colección series, built around single vineyard sites rather than one varietal formula across the whole range. Pour it for anyone who thinks they already know what Argentine red tastes like.

Mature dark berry fruit and lush fig marmalade wrapped in exotic spice and vanilla, with the altitude keeping the finish fresher than the ripe fruit suggests.

Built for grilled meats — try it with chimichurri skirt steak or beef empanadas.

Las Mulas Vineyard sits at 3,450 feet on the eastern foothills of the Andes in El Cepillo, part of Mendoza's Uco Valley — one of the higher-elevation sites Nomade sources from for its Colección line.
