Paul O'Brian Pinot Noir Umpqua Valley 2021 750ml
$40.00
Paul O'Brian Winery opened in 2013 in Roseburg's historic Hansen Chevrolet building, founded by longtime friends Scott O'Brian Kelley and Dyson Paul DeMara, who met working at Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa. They source this Pinot Noir from dry-farmed hillside vineyards across the Umpqua Valley, Oregon's oldest AVA. Great Northwest Wine rated it 91 points, and Wine Enthusiast called it a beautifully balanced gem. A cool-climate Pinot with real character, priced to drink on a regular Tuesday, not just save for special occasions.
Bing cherry and blackberry aromas laced with cocoa powder and lavender; ripe, juicy purple fruit carries through a silky texture with brisk acidity to a tangy, lengthy blueberry-pomegranate finish.
Classic matches for Pinot Noir: Salmon, roast duck, mushroom risotto, a charcuterie board that means business.
Founders DeMara and Kelley also own HillCrest Vineyard, Oregon's oldest estate winery, near Roseburg; the winery works with dry-farmed hillside growers throughout Umpqua Valley rather than relying on a single estate vineyard, blending fruit for consistency and complexity.
