Pedroncelli - Pinot Noir - 2021

Pedroncelli has been farming Dry Creek Valley since 1927, when Giovanni and Julia Pedroncelli bought a hillside property outside Geyserville. This Pinot Noir comes from the cooler, fog-touched Russian River Valley just south, aged eight months in French oak. It's a family operation now in its third and fourth generation, still doing things the unfussy way. Light-bodied and easy to like, this is Pinot for a weeknight, not a wine list flex.

Rose petal, pomegranate and nutmeg on the nose, with strawberry, black plum and a toasty oak note. Light-bodied and smooth, bright acidity, mild tannins, and a long, gentle finish.

Classic matches for Pinot Noir: Salmon, roast duck, mushroom risotto, a charcuterie board that means business.

The Pedroncelli family has farmed Dry Creek Valley since 1927 and was the first to plant Cabernet Sauvignon there. They were also the first Sonoma County producer to put the county name on a wine label, back in the late 1940s.
