Sandhi Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir 2022
$59.00
Sandhi is the Sta. Rita Hills label from sommelier Rajat Parr and winemaker Sashi Moorman, the team behind Domaine de la Côte, and this appellation bottling gets declassified fruit from that estate plus three neighboring vineyards including La Rinconada. Fermented with 30% whole clusters and raised 14 months in neutral barrels. Nothing confected here: taut, savory, ocean-cooled Pinot with real cut. Wine Advocate gave it 94 points. California Pinot for Burgundy people.
Raspberry, bitter cherry and damson plum with sage, green tea, potpourri and pepper. Light-bodied but tensile: chalky tannins, bright acidity, a lingering iron twang on the long finish.
Seared duck breast, salmon with lentils, wild mushroom risotto.
