Talbott Pinot Noir Kali Hart 2022

Kali Hart is named for founder Robb Talbott's youngest daughter, and the fruit comes from Talbott's Sleepy Hollow estate vineyard in Monterey's Santa Lucia Highlands, first planted in 1972 and now 565 acres of nothing but Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The site is Certified California Sustainable and irrigated entirely with recycled water. James Suckling gave the 2022 a 93. Silky, cherry-driven, cool-climate Pinot that overdelivers. The kind of bottle that quietly becomes somebody's house red.

Ripe black cherry and plum with toasted vanilla, clove, raspberry, black tea, and rose petal. Medium bodied, silky tannins, crisp red fruit, long finish with a touch of minerality.

Classic matches for a red like this: Grilled and roasted meats, hearty pastas, aged cheeses.

Robb Talbott founded the winery in 1982. Sleepy Hollow, planted in 1972 in the Santa Lucia Highlands, spans three parcels growing only Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, farmed Certified California Sustainable with 70 percent of vineyard power offset by solar.
