Teeter-Totter is Benoit Touquette's value label, founded in 2010. Touquette trained under Michel Rolland in Bordeaux, worked beside Andy Erickson at Screaming Eagle, and has more than twenty-eight 100-point wines to his name. Here he applies the same barrel-by-barrel selection to a Cabernet priced for weeknights. The 2023 saw 70% new oak. Antonio Galloni calls Teeter-Totter just about as good as it gets for Napa value. Jeb Dunnuck says it competes with wines at three to four times the price.
Black cherry, blueberry pie, espresso, cocoa, pencil shavings, lavender and tobacco. Ripe plum, blackberry, currant, sage and mint framed in toasty oak and vanilla. Youthful and lively.

Touquette was born in Lyon, graduated from the University of Bordeaux, and built his early career under Michel Rolland before Napa internships turned into winemaking for Dalla Valle, Ovid and Screaming Eagle alongside Andy Erickson.
