The Language of Yes - 'Cuvée Sinso' - 2022

Cuvée Sinso is The Language of Yes's Central Coast field blend: 64% Cinsault co-fermented with 26% Syrah, plus small amounts of Grenache, Tannat and Viognier, aged in neutral barrels and stainless steel to keep the fruit forward. Wine Enthusiast gave the 2022 a 92, with 94 points from Decanter and 93 from James Suckling elsewhere. Light on its feet but not simple, it's the red for people who insist they don't like big Cabernet.

Fresh, zippy aromas of black raspberry and scarlet rose meet wet earth, sumac and cinnamon; the palate runs through thyme, fennel frond, bright raspberry, lemon peel and warm toast, closing on white pepper and red florals.

Serve it slightly chilled with grilled salmon, or alongside a board of soppressata and manchego.

The Language of Yes is based in San Miguel and Salinas on California's Central Coast, and co-ferments the Cinsault and Syrah in this blend rather than blending the two wines together after the fact.
