Thelema "Vin De Hel" Muscat Late Harvest 2022

Thelema farms some of the highest vineyards in Stellenbosch, at the top of the Helshoogte Pass between Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Vin de Hel is their late harvest Muscat, a golden half bottle picked sweet and kept fresh. The 2022 earned 95 points from Tim Atkin and five stars from Platter's, South Africa's toughest wine guide. Sticky wines this good rarely show up at thirty dollars. Dessert course, solved. One bottle pours six proper glasses.

Pineapple, apricot, orange citrus, a touch of honey, and subtle white flowers. Lush and sweet on the palate, with fresh acidity holding it upright through a long, clean finish.

Thelema Mountain Vineyards sits at the top of the Helshoogte Pass, with vines from 370 to 640 meters, among the coolest, highest sites in Stellenbosch. The Vin de Hel name is a play on the Hel in Helshoogte.
