The seaside rose from Bordeaux's biggest cooperative. Les Vignerons de Tutiac unites 520 growers on both banks of the Gironde and has led the Cotes de Bordeaux since its founding in 1974. Cote Ocean is their all-Merlot rose bottled under the IGP Atlantique, pale, luminous pink with blackcurrant, strawberry and citrus. Fresh attack, easy balance, built for the aperitif hour. Merlot rose is rarer than it should be, and this one shows why the grape works in pink. Bring it to the crab boil.

Pale, luminous pink. Intense, expressive nose of blackcurrant, strawberry and citrus. Fresh attack on the palate, good balance, pleasant supple fruit, clean finish.

Tapas, shrimp salad, a summer fruit tart. Aperitif wine first and foremost.

Les Vignerons de Tutiac is a cooperative founded in 1974 that brings together 520 winegrowers from both banks of the Gironde. It is the leading producer of the Cotes de Bordeaux and France's largest producer of appellation wines. Cote Ocean is its Merlot rose under IGP Atlantique.
