Viña Las Perdices makes wine in Agrelo, the heart of Luján de Cuyo south of Mendoza city, ground better known for serious Malbec. Their Pinot Grigio is the sleeper. Agrelo's warm, dry climate gives it more flesh than the watery northern Italian stuff, with floral, faintly tropical aromatics and real structure, while the acidity stays in balance. Greenish yellow in the glass, citrus on the nose, long clean finish. Porch wine with a passport.
