Big Table Farm - Willamette Valley - Pinot Noir - 2020
$69.99
Big Table Farm is a two-person operation on a working farm in Gaston, Oregon: winemaker Brian Marcy makes the wine, artist Clare Carver draws the labels and hand-applies each one with a letterpress. The 2020 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is unfined, unfiltered, and fermented with native yeast, blended from multiple estate sites across the valley. It is an honest, farmhouse Pinot for someone who wants Oregon character over polish. Pour it at a real dinner, not a tasting room.
Bing cherry, cooked plum, light oak, tobacco and a touch of raisin on the nose. Light-to-medium bodied and dry, with cherry, raspberry, licorice, chocolate and black pepper carrying through a medium-plus finish of fine tannins and tangy raspberry.
Roast chicken with mushrooms, duck breast, or a simple pork chop off the farm grill.
Big Table Farm sources fruit from multiple Willamette Valley vineyards and ferments with native yeast, bottling unfined and unfiltered. Labels are letterpress-printed by hand from Clare Carver's charcoal drawings of the farm's animals and tools, a different image every vintage.
