Croft is one of the oldest Port houses in the Douro, and 2016 was a widely declared vintage year across the region. James Suckling and Wine Spectator both scored this bottling 97 points, praising its balance of power and restraint rather than pure muscle. This 375ml half-bottle is the right call for anyone who wants real Vintage Port without committing to a full bottle that needs drinking (or freezing) once opened. Built to age for decades, but plenty good young.

Perfumed dark berry and currant, with earth and spice notes. Full-bodied, round and medium-sweet, with licorice, fruitcake, plum, blackberry and fig paste layered through a long, well-defined finish.
