Stonestreet's Estate Cabernet draws from Alexander Valley vineyards that climb from the valley floor up toward 2,400 feet on Monument Ridge, giving it a cooler, more structured style than typical Alexander Valley fruit. The 2018 is 98.5% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1.5% Petit Verdot, aged 20 months in 35% new French oak. Wine Enthusiast gave it 94 points, calling it balanced and refined with classic structure, Alexander Valley power without the syrupy fruit-bomb style some producers there chase.

Blueberry, dark caramel, bay leaf and chaparral on the nose. Blackberry, bramble and cocoa on the palate, backed by crushed rock, mountain sage and dusty tannin over a core of currant and cassis. Rich and long.

Classic matches for Cabernet Sauvignon: Ribeye off the grill, lamb chops, aged cheddar, a rainy night and a good movie.
