Vietti has been making wine at the top of Castiglione Falletto since 1873, and it remains one of Barolo's benchmark names, owned by the Krause family since 2016. Cascinetta is their Moscato d'Asti, all Moscato from roughly 40-year-old vines in the limestone and clay around Castiglione Tinella. Fermentation stops cold at about 6% alcohol, so it stays gently fizzy and honest-sweet. This is the Moscato that converts Moscato skeptics. Chill it hard for brunch or dessert.

Pale sunshine yellow with a soft frizzante. Peaches, rose petals and ginger on the nose. Delicately sweet and lightly sparkling on the palate, modest acidity keeping it clean, with a fresh apricot finish.

Peach cobbler, almond biscotti, prosciutto and melon, or a spicy Thai curry that wants something cold and sweet.

Fruit comes from small Guyot-trained plots in Castiglione Tinella planted at 4,500 vines per hectare, hand harvested, gently pressed and held cold in steel so the winery can ferment small batches to order all year.
