Domaine La Croix St-Laurent - Sancerre Rose - 2023

Domaine La Croix St-Laurent is run by Joël and Sylvie Cirotte out of Bué, one of Sancerre's classic villages in the eastern Loire. This rosé is 100% Pinot Noir from 30-year-old vines planted on 2.5 hectares of flint and limestone, hand-harvested in early September and pressed directly rather than macerated for color. It's fermented cool in stainless steel and rested five months on the lees before bottling. A serious, mineral-driven Sancerre rosé, not a summer throwaway.

Exuberant peach, grapefruit, and apricot aromas. Full, fruit-forward palate that melts into a smooth, harmonious balance with an incredibly long finish.

Built for the table: try it with white meats, Asian or Indian dishes, or seafood, not just as a porch pour.

The Cirottes farm 2.5 hectares of 30-year-old Pinot Noir vines in Bué, on Sancerre's flint-and-limestone soils. Grapes are hand-harvested in early September, sorted, and pressed directly for the rosé.
