Illahe - Tempranillo Rose - 2022
$32.99
Illahe Vineyards is an 80-acre, dry-farmed estate in Dallas, Oregon founded by the Ford family in 2001, LIVE and Salmon-Safe certified, and known for using a team of Percheron draft horses, Bea and Doc, to work the vineyard and haul fruit at harvest. The 2022 Tempranillo Rosé is whole-cluster pressed with no cold soak and picked early to hold onto acidity, fermented 75% in stainless steel and 25% in neutral oak. Real Willamette Valley rosé, built lean and bright rather than sweet.
Strawberry, blood orange, guava, mango and watermelon rind, with crisp, racy acidity. Lean, bright palate with lemon zest, kumquat and gooseberry-like freshness.
Grilled shrimp skewers, a goat cheese salad, or a charcuterie board on the patio.
Founded in 2001 by Lowell and Pauline Ford, with son Brad Ford as winemaker since 2004. Illahe belongs to the Deep Roots Coalition of dry-farmed Willamette Valley producers and is LIVE-certified and Salmon-Safe, tending vines without added water.
