Rosé Di Neré - Fuedo Maccari - 2022

Feudo Maccari sits on sun-baked hills between Avola and Pachino in southeastern Sicily, the same corner of the island that gave Nero d'Avola its name. Tuscan producer Antonio Moretti (also behind Tenuta Sette Ponti) built this 250-acre estate in 2000 from more than 50 scattered plots of old bush-vine Nero d'Avola. Rosé di Neré is 100% that grape, pressed off pink instead of red, and it drinks like Sicilian sunshine: bright, dry, built for a hot patio.

Pale pink with peach glints. Strawberry and raspberry up front, a citrus lift, and a faint herbal note like Mediterranean scrub on the finish. Dry, fresh, easy to drink.

Grilled shrimp, caprese salad, or just a bowl of olives on the porch.

Antonio Moretti established Feudo Maccari in 2000, assembling the 250-acre estate from over 50 separate plots on south-facing hillsides between Avola and Pachino, where old bush-vine Nero d'Avola soaks up near-constant Sicilian sun.
